20 December 2012
ACPO (The Association of Chief Police Officers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland) is amending its policy on police response to security systems with effect from 1 January 2013.
Part of the amendment relates to police administration charges (see Appendix E of the policy) when a new occupier/owner of premises takes over an existing intruder and hold-up alarm system that is on police response or where an existing occupier/owner decides to change their security company.
If the system has both intruder and personal attack elements a reduced administration fee of £65.23 + VAT will be payable from 1 January 2013 rather than the usual fee of 2 x £43.49 + VAT = £86.98 + VAT, which is welcomed.
For further details please refer to the amended ACPO policy, which will be available from the “Secured by Design” website www.securedbydesign.com after 1 January 2013.
