/ PD 6662:2017 + A1:2009 with BS 8243. Including System Design Awareness and Grading based on Risk Assessment

Introduction

It is important that all individuals engaged in the surveying, designing, installing and maintaining of electronic security systems to meet the requirements of PD 6662: 2017 should be aware of the basic contents of the Standard for Installation, EN 50131-1, and the document containing Alarm Systems Application Guidelines, DD CLC/TS 50131-7. Also, where required, those individuals should have an understanding of BS 8243, Intruder and Hold-Up Alarm Systems designed to generate Confirmed Alarms. In order to determine the correct Security Grade of the system, designers should also understand the concept of a security risk assessment and the grading criteria.
